Acupuncture

Is the insertion of sterilized and pre-packaged fine, thin needles onto specific acupuncture points. Sensory nerves are stimulated at the insertion point to promote the production of endorphins for pain relief, and dopamine and serotonin for relaxation. Needles are retained within the skin for 20 to 30 minutes per session.

Acupressure

This is a form of therapeutic massage with pressure applied to specific acupuncture points to stimulate nerve endings. Can be use in place of acupuncture needles if patients are afraid of needles.

Herbal Prescriptions

Herbs can be prescribed to treat both internal organs and for external injuries. Herbs can only be prescribed by a National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) board certified oriental medicine practitioners.

Herbs can come in raw bulk, pills, or powdered forms as well as ointments, liniments, plasters, poultice, and balms. All of which are individually customized based on current presenting symptoms and signs.

Cupping

Fire is applied to the glass cuppings and placed on muscular areas of the body to form a suction. This method loosens up tight muscles, opens up skin pores to promote sweating, or detox skin surface. Cups are placed on skin surface ranging from 1 to 10 minutes, depending on the individual’s skin condition.

Electrical Stimulation

Electrical currents are transmitted through acupuncture needles to provide stronger and consistent needle stimulation. Electrical acupuncture are applied for approximately 20 minutes. This technique is often used for paralysis, bell's palsy, and chronic pain conditions.

Guasha

Jade, buffalo horns, or coins are often used to scrape along the surface of the skin to open up skin pores and help promote blood and fluid circulation between the skin, fascia, and muscle layers.
